2011 Chevy Silverado HD
The complete details and images of the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD have been released today, ahead of the model's premiere at the Chicago Auto Show. The new 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD will have a 20,000 lb / 9,072 kg towing capacity and a 6,335 lb / 2,873 kg payload, which are some of the best in its segment. The increased towing capacity and payload of the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD have been made possible through new frames and strong suspensions. The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD is powered by new 6.6L Duramax diesel engine coupled with a new Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission that emits 63% less CO2. The new version also runs on B20 biodiesel. The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD price has not been specified yet, but the manufacturer says it will go on sale this summer. Chevrolet Press Release: On a recent validation drive of the new, 2011 Chevrolet Silverado heavy-duty trucks, engineer Brent Deep relied on the Silverado’s new, smart exhaust brake system to slow the truck/trailer combination on descents, helping prove the new system is suitable for the most demanding conditions. It was a drive across the heart of the Rocky Mountains and some of the interstate system’s steepest grades, with altitudes ranging from Denver’s approximately 5,000 feet (1,525 m) to more than 11,100 feet (3,400 m) at the Eisenhower Tunnel. |
